Yong Mun Sen (1896-1962) - two Malaysian watercolour paintings, the first depicting a group of figures working in a paddy field, signed and dated 1944, the other with four wicker crab or lobster pots floating on a raft, signed and dated 1949, approx 28cm x 38cm, framed and glazed (some faults). Note: Yong Mun Sen was a Malaysian artist and one of the founders of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, then Malaya. Although trained in formal brush painting and calligraphy during his schooling in China, he is best known for his watercolours and later oils. He is widely known as the Father of Malaysian painting.
