An early 19th century 16-bore double-barrelled flintlock sporting gun with Damascus barrels, barrel length 69cm, gold inlaid to central rib 'J. Manton Gunmaker to His Majesty' in gothic style script, Birmingham proofed and numbered '6439', with French type hammers and 'V' shaped patent pans, finely engraved steel furniture, the trigger guard decorated with a hunting dog, walnut half-stock with chequered grip and ebonized brass-tipped ramrod, together with a modern slip case.
