BINDINGS. Aphorisms, Opinions, and Reflections of the late Dr. Parr with a Sketch of his Life. London: J. Andrews, 1826. 8vo (160 x 92mm.) Portrait frontispiece, 5pp. handwritten notes on Dr. Parr by Charles Francis Bell bound-in. (Hand-written notes and a newspaper article relating to Dr. Parr mounted on front blank, spotting to title and frontispiece, small stain to fore-edge). Near contemporary calf bound by J. Clarke, gilt ruled, green morocco lettering piece, gilt turn-ins, g.e. (light rubbing). Provenance: Charles Drury Edward Fortnum (bookplate to front pastedown); Charles Francis Bell, Keeper of Fine Art at the Ashmolean (name-plate to front pastedown). - And a further nine leather-bound volumes, mainly poetry (including Thomas Gisborne's 'Walks in a Forest', 1797, 8vo) (10).
