LOT 1117
A George IV inlaid mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 14-inch painted break arch dial with rolling moon to arch above flower roundels and birds, Roman hours and outer Arabic minutes, with subsidiary seconds and date dials and inscribed 'Barraclough of Haworth', the hood with swan neck pediment and brass ball finials above a glazed door and fluted columns, the inlaid trunk with triple arched door, flanked by cluster columns, repeated on the similarly decorated base with bracket feet, height 232cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: the Barraclough family of clockmakers are recorded working in Haworth, Yorkshire, from 1795 to 1887.
