LOT 1131
A George III mahogany mantel timepiece with eight day single fusee movement, the engraved backplate inscribed 'Hardeman, Bridge', the painted circular dial with black Roman hour numerals, the dome top case with brass line inlaid decoration, on an ebonized plinth base and brass claw and ball feet, height 26cm, with pendulum. Note: Samuel Hardeman is recorded in 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World' by Brian Loomes as working in Bridge, Kent, circa 1762 to 1794.
