LOT 1118
A George III mahogany bracket clock with eight day twin fusee movement striking hours on a bell with pull repeat mechanism, the backplate with foliate engraved decoration, the painted breakarch dial signed 'WM Robson London', flanked by subsidiary date and strike/silent dials to arch, above black Roman hours and outer Arabic minutes, the case with triple pad top and brass carrying handle above a moulded arch pediment and glazed doors, the sides with pierced brass scale fret panels, on a moulded plinth base, height 42.5cm, with pendulum. Note: William Robson is recorded in 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World' by Brian Loomes as a clockmaker working in London (Cripplegate) between 1800 and 1821.
