A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase by Keizan, Meiji period, of stout ovoid form, painted with opposing figural panels, one side filled with a shoreside scene of bijin and children with Mount Fuji beyond, the other side with bijin, two gentlemen and a boy beneath a blossoming cherry tree, reserved against a dark blue ground filled with gilt overlaid decoration, iron red and gilt Shimazu mon and signature to base, height 38cm.
