A mid-18th century English finely cut paper panel, depicting a lion standing four square on a grassy mound beside an overhanging tree beneath a trellis arch, the base edge inscribed 'Tho Hunter Fecit', 18.5cm x 23cm, within a later ebonized frame. Note: a cut vellum on green silk example of Thomas Hunter's work can be seen on the Met Museum website, described as 'The Ten Commandments, The Lord's Prayer, and The Creed', dated 1759.
