An early 18th century brass 12-inch longcase clock dial and eight day movement striking on a bell, the engraved matt centre with silvered subsidiary seconds and date aperture, the silvered chapter ring with black Roman hours, outer Arabic minutes and inscribed 'James Jorden Chatham', dial width 30.5cm. Note: James Jordan or Jorden is recorded as a clockmaker working in Chatham, Kent, between circa 1705 and 1740.
