A Japanese Satsuma earthenware circular bowl by Ryokuzan, Meiji period, the interior finely painted and gilt with a lakeside scene of women and children with pavilions and mount Fuji beyond, within a wide border of simulated brocade in a trellis design, the exterior gilt with flowers, foliage and mon beneath a key fret rim, on a dark blue ground, black and gilt censer mark incorporating signature to base, height 8.5cm, diameter 18.5cm.
