A Japanese Satsuma earthenware bowl by Juzan, Meiji period, of circular form with leaf shaped rim, the exterior finely painted and gilt with a continuous procession of men, women and children against a gilt speckled ground, the interior filled with dense polychrome and gilt butterflies, iron red, black and gilt signature to base, height 5.3cm, diameter 8.7cm.
