A Japanese Satsuma earthenware tea caddy and cover by Ryozan for the Yasuda Company, Meiji period, of rectangular form, the sides painted and gilt with opposing figural panels, alternating with opposing panels of birds amidst flowers and pavilions, figures and landscape, within simulated brocade borders, the shoulder and cover with dense chrysanthemums and peonies, gilt signature beside gilt and black Yasuda trademark, height 12.5cm.
