Attributed to Francesco di Marco Francia - Madonna and Child with the Infant St John the Baptist, 16th century oil on panel, paper label verso inscribed 'Raccolta del Conte Giambatista Costabili di Ferrara, No. 536' and the panel carved with initials 'C.G.B.C.', 57.5cm x 47cm, within a gilt frame. Provenance: Marchese Giovanni Battista Costabili Contain, Ferrara, by 1835. Literature: Emanuele Mattaliano, 'La collezione Costabili' (Marsilio, Venezia 1998), number 439, p.132; 'Catalogue de la Collection Costabili de Ferrare', (Milano 1885), number 52 (illustrated).
