ASIA. - Rev. William CURETON. Spicilegium Syriacum: containing remains of Bardesan, Melton, Ambrose and Mara Bar Serapion. London: Francis and John Rivington, 1855. First edition, 8vo (261 x 158mm.) Text in English with the text of the Syriac manuscript to the rear. (Occassional spotting and soiling.) Original blue cloth (bumped to extremities, some sunning and wear to top of spine). Provenance: The Right Hon. Francis Egerton, Earl of Ellesmere, politician and writer (presentation inscription from the author to the front free endpaper). - And two related volumes (including J.G.R. Forlong, 'Short Studies in the Science of Comparative Religions', first edition, 1897, 8vo) (3).
