A Chinese white biscuit porcelain brushpot, Daoguang period, probably by Chen Guozhi, of near cylindrical form, carved in relief with a mountainous landscape of trees emerging from rocks, a fisherman and boat on a river and a pavilion with fenced garden, figures and water buffalo, impressed seal mark and flanked by two lines of incised text to base, height 16.3cm (minor filled chips to rim).
