LEECH, Bosdin. History of the Manchester Ship Canal from its Inception to its Completion. Manchester & London: Sherratt & Hughes, 1907. 2 vols., 4to (285 x 210mm.) Uncoloured frontispiece to each vol., 77 uncoloured plates, 15 folding plates and plans, 5 folding maps in pocket at rear of vol. I, 2 folding maps in pocket at rear of vol. II. (Browning and occasional spotting, library stamps to reverse of all plates and maps with associated offsetting.) Modern cloth, t.e.g. (endpapers replaced). Provenance: Selly Oak Colleges Library (library inkstamps throughout); from the estate of the late Michael Gilkes FRCS, FRCOphth., FRGS.
