BULL, Henrik J. The Cruise of the 'Antarctic' to the South Polar Regions. London & New York: Edward Arnold, 1896. First edition, 8vo (225 x 138mm.) Frontispiece, 11 uncoloured plates, 36pp. advertisements at rear. (Light browning and occasional spotting, pages crudely opened with loss to margins.) Contemporary pictorial cloth blocked in black and silver (extremities lightly bumped and scuffed, spine slightly darkened, minor damp stains to covers). Spence 210. Provenance: G.R. Richmond (presentation inscription from the author signed 'H. Bull' dated '7/3/1900' to half-title); G. & J. Weir Ltd (ink stamps to front-free endpaper, half-title and p.129); The Michael Gilkes Collection. Note: Weir manufactured pumps for steamships; Richmond represented the company as well as being related through marriage.
