A Staffordshire porcelain teapot, cover and stand, circa 1800, probably by Factory X, of commode form, painted in blue and gilt with borders of circular medallions and floral pendants united by festoons (hairline to body), together with a similarly decorated cream jug and sucrier and cover, each with spiral fluted body, all with blue enamelled pattern number '165' to bases. Note: a teapot of this shape is illustrated on plate 227 and 229 of David Holgate's 'New Hall and Its Imitations'.
