A 19th Century fruitwood needlework box with chequer banded borders and boxwood stringing, the double-hinged top centred by an overhead handle and with an applied plaque, inscribed 'Formed from the Crab Tree under which Shakespeare took shelter on the road between Bidford and Stratford upon Avon. See Ireland's Upper Avon P.233', height approx 23cm, length approx 32cm.
