A 19th Century coconut 'bugbear' shot flask, one end with carved mask and inset glass eyes and metal mounted mouth aperture, the sides carved in relief with opposing oval panels, one depicting two cavaliers and a lady in an interior scene, the other with a Roman soldier standing before a lady and her two children, all reserved against a ground of scrolling foliage, length approx 13.5cm.
