A Second World War period U.S. Marines officer's sword by S.E. Eby Co. Phila., with curved single-edged blade, length approx 71cm, etched with foliate and floral scrolls, wire-bound leather-covered grip, in its gilt-brass-mounted leather-covered steel scabbard (covering damaged). Note: a label tied to the hilt states that this sword was presented to Jack Arkie Williams, U.S. Marine pharmacist, third class, by five marine officers in 1944 for saving their lives in Iwa Jima.
