An unusual and rare Sèvres Republican bleu-nouveau-ground two-handled goblet and saucer, circa 1793, reserved with yellow ground oval panels containing symbols of France, including the Phrygian cap, plumb bob and fasces (liberty, equality, fraternity), within gilded frames against the gilt dotted ground, the rims with a garland of leaves entwined with a tricolour ribbon, blue painted 'RF' monogram and 'IN' gilder's mark for Jean Chauvaux with symbol for Philippe Throuet, and incised '41' to saucer, diameter of saucer 16.3cm. Note: a similar goblet and saucer, or tasse à l'etrusque et soucoupe, was sold at Bonhams 18th June 2014, Lot 172.
