An Egyptian stone stela (grave marker), Middle Kingdom, 1991-1783 BC, the arched rectangular tablet incised and painted with a jackal on a shrine flanked by a pair of sacred eyes above four bands of hieroglyphics, the main central reserve decorated with four figures flanking a table of offerings, a further panel of figures below, height 39cm, width 23.5cm, depth 6cm. Note: this stela is accompanied by correspondence from Dr I.E.S. Edwards of The British Museum, dated 1965. It includes a translation of the hieroglyphics, detailing that the stela was for a judge by the name of Nebnetjeru.
