Contemporary half calf over green cloth covers, two black morocco lettering pieces to the spines (some rubbing, lacking some of the lettering piece from volume 3, staining to calf of volumes 1 and 2). Note: one 3pp. letter from the author is sent from Cashmere [Kashmir] and asks the recipient to send some seeds, the other letter, 4pp., to the same recipient ('Henderson'), mainly discusses trips (presumably bird-hunting) and wanting an anatomical examination of a bird to solve a dispute.
