A group of First World War awards to Edgar Camille Hamonet, Australian Imperial Expeditionary Forces, comprising Military Medal, George V issue, to '942 Sjt:E.C.Hamonet. 1/Coy Aust:M.G.C.' (note official correction to the second initial, the surname and the beginning of his unit), 1914-15 Star to '942 Pte E.C.Hamonet. 3/Bn. A.I.F.', 1914-18 British War Medal to '942 Sgt.E.C.Hamonet. 3-Bn. A.I.F.' and 1914-19 Victory Medal to '942 Sjt E.C.Hamonet. M.M. 1-M.G.C.A.I.F.', with three boxes of issue, together with his First World War period memorial plaque, detailed 'Edgar Camille Hamonet', with forwarding slip, envelope and waxed cardboard case, a khaki cloth oval badge, detailed 'MG' above a wreath, a green cloth badge, detailed 'A', a large collection of original paperwork, including two letters, one from Cap. S.W. Richards to Mrs Hamonet, dated 'France 16-10-17', informing her of her husband's death on 4-10-17, the other from L/Cpl. W.J. Paterson to Mrs Hamonet, dated 'France 23-10-17', giving the circumstances of his death, an official notification showing that he was killed in action, three letters forwarding his medals to Mrs Hamonet, mostly dated '1921', the official notification from the Department of Defence Melbourne to Mrs Hamonet giving details of his award of the Military Medal, a postcard of Anzac Cove, Gallipoli, dated '9-1-15', a war pension advice card, personal letters, Christmas and postcards sent to his wife, a few photographs, a certificate of first class standard of gunner, detailed 'School of Instruction Zeitoun Machine Gun Class', a barrage chart, a base metal cased open-faced pocket watch, two olive wood bound books containing dried and pressed flowers, detailed 'Jerusalem', and further items, contained within a wooden box. Note: Sergeant E.C. Hamonet died on 4th October 1917, aged 28, and is remembered with honour on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.

A 1914 Star to '7355 Pte W.Walsh. R.Muns:Fus:', a 1914-18 British War Medal and a 1914-19 Victory Medal, the naming mostly erased but partly discernible as '7355 Pte.W.Walsh R.Mun.Fus.', mounted on a bar, five dress miniature awards, comprising 1914-18 British War Medal, 1914-19 Victory Medal with M.I.D spray, India General Service Medal with bar 'Burma 1930-32', 1935 Jubilee Medal and Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, George V issue, mounted on a bar, with paperwork relating to Major W.E. Hall, comprising Regular Army Certificate of Service noting discharge 25th February 1940 for the purpose of being appointed to a commission, this confirming entitlement to some of the medals represented as dress miniature awards, a registered postage packet, detailed 'Major W.E. Hall', a copy of The Dragon, October 1934, a letter detailing 'relinquishment of commission on completion of service' and a base metal spoon.
