Mougin maker's mark, the circular cream chapter ring with black Arabic hour numerals, the case decorated in the Oriental taste with Buddhistic lion surmount above a dragon roof pediment, the front with cast and pierced panel of flowers, simulated clouds and brocade, the side panels with Shibayama inlaid scenes of butterfly amidst trailing flower vines and branches of blossoming prunus, height 46cm, with pendulum.

A late 19th century walnut cased Vienna style wall clock with eight day movement striking on a gong, the circular dial with Roman hour numerals, the case with arched surmount and turned finials above a glazed door with turned columns and tapered apron, height 119cm, with pendulum and two weights.

A late 19th century German walnut cased mantel clock by Junghans, with eight day movement striking on a gong, the case with turned finials and columns, height 45.5cm, with pendulum, together with a brass lantern style timepiece with French movement, height 25cm, and a pottery cased mantel clock with Ansonia Clock Co movement, height 33.7cm, with pendulum.

An early 18th century brass lantern clock, the movement with anchor escapement striking on a bell, the 6½-inch circular dial engraved with foliate scrolls, the chapter ring with Roman hour numerals and signed 'Smorthwait in Colchester', the case of typical form with domed bell surmount and turned finial above pierced and engraved fret panels, the turned side columns with hinged side panels, on turned ball feet, height 39cm, with pendulum and later painted wood wall bracket. Provenance: restored by Cloud & Shapland, London, in 1889 and at West Dean College in 1995. Note: John Smorthwait (1675-1739) is a recorded clockmaker working in Colchester from about 1712 to his death in 1739. He was one of Colchester's earliest clockmakers and by far the most prolific.

A late 19th century French brass cased mantel timepiece with eight day movement, the circular dial with Arabic hour numerals, the cast brass case with finial surmount above foliate scrolls, lion mask and drop ring handles to sides, on a square base with winged paw feet, height 34cm, with pendulum.

A mid-19th century French brown patinated bronze and ormolu cased mantel clock, the eight day movement with silk suspension, striking hours and half hours on a bell via an outside countwheel, the silvered circular dial within a cast gilt vine surround, the case with dog and child surmount, on a rectangular base with cast foliate scroll decoration, height 43.5cm, with pendulum and winding key, on a rosewood oval stand (some faults and lacking glass dome).

A late 19th century French gilt spelter and Sèvres style porcelain mantel clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the case with porcelain urn surmount, dial, columns and front panel, painted with flowers and landscapes within gilt and bleu céleste borders, height 33cm, with pendulum and giltwood stand, the glass dome with ebonized base.

A late 19th century oak cased bracket clock with eight day three train movement chiming on four gongs and striking on a larger gong with pull repeat mechanism, the backplate stamped 'W & H Sch' (Winterhalder & Hofmeier), the brass dial with silvered subsidiary pendulum regulation dial above a matt centre and silvered chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals and detailed 'Curtis & Horspool Leicester', the arched case with carved foliate scroll decoration, bevelled glass panel to front door and pierced fret panels to sides, on an inverted breakfront base, height 38.4cm, with pendulum, case key and winding key.

A 19th century mahogany mantel timepiece with French eight day movement, the domed case on turned feet, height 31cm, together with a brass mounted walnut mantel timepiece, height 23.5cm, a painted cast iron clock case, a brass watch stand, two other clock cases (faults), and a brass cased aneroid barometer with silvered dial.

A Smiths circular Bakelite and chrome cased wall timepiece, the dial with black Arabic hour numerals and detailed 'Smiths 8 Day', diameter 18cm.

An early 19th century mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch painted breakarch dial with rolling moon to arch, Arabic hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, the hood with moulded arch pediment and glazed door, the trunk with arched door, on a plain base and plinth, height 201cm, with pendulum and two weights.

An early 19th century figured mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch circular white painted dial with Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and calendar dials, the arched hood with brass ball finials and glazed door, the trunk with arched door above a panelled base and bracket feet, height 209cm, with pendulum and two weights.

A 19th century mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 13-inch painted breakarch dial with Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials, and indistinctly signed, the arch painted with animals and birds in a woodland, the hood with swan neck pediment and inlaid columns, the bowfront trunk with arched door and spiral reeded corner columns, on a crossbanded bowfront base and bracket feet, height 214cm, with pendulum and two weights.
