British and Continental Ceramics

A large mixed group of Continental, mostly bisque porcelain, nodding head figures, circa 1900, modelled in a variety of poses, standing and sitting, including some pairs and others in the form of children, Japanese or Chinese figures, tallest 18cm, together with a similar pair of underglaze blue and gilt decorated twin branch candlesticks with a pair of rocking figures, height 23cm, and a pair of green and gilt decorated posy figures with rocking parrots on their shoulders, height 22cm (some faults and repairs).

A Meissen Hentschel Child figure The Boy With the Blue Onion Cup, designed 1905 by Konrad Hentschel, modelled as a young boy wearing a nightgown drinking from a Blue Onion pattern cup, a toy horse upturned behind him, crossed swords in underglaze blue to base, model No. W118, impressed 136, painted 60, height 16cm (repaired).

An ormolu mounted Meissen porcelain bowl and cover, late 19th century, outside factory painted with romantic couples in garden settings beneath a floral garland band and a border of pink scale and gilt trellis, the pierced rim mounts flanked by bifurcated scroll handles, the ormolu stem and foot detailed with leaves and berries, the similarly painted cover with rose finial, underglaze blue cancelled crossed swords mark to base of porcelain, height 20cm.

A group of seven Dutch delft blue painted peacock tail pattern dishes, 18th century, each with ochre rim, including a pair by De Drye Clocken, diameter 33.5cm, largest 35cm diameter (minor faults).

A German faience buckle dish, late 17th century, with chinoiserie decoration, 21cm diameter (restored), together with four Dutch delft dishes painted in blue with chinoiserie scenes.

A Dutch delft dish with serrated rim, 18th century, the blue ground with shaped stylized floral panels around a central floral medallion, diameter 27cm, together with four other similar dishes (faults).

A pair of Dutch delft dishes, late 18th century, painted in blue with flowering plants within a stylized foliate border edged in ochre, diameter 23cm, together with a similar dish painted with flowering rockwork, diameter 23cm, a De Porceleyne Bijl plate painted in blue with a willow in a chinoiserie garden, diameter 22.5cm, and three other similar dishes, largest diameter 34.5cm (faults and restoration).

A Dutch delft charger, mid 18th century, painted in Kraak style with two Chinese figures in a garden setting, one holding a banner, within a panelled border, the rim underside detailed with dashes and stars, diameter 34.5cm (broken in half and restored), together with two other tin-glazed earthenware dishes (faults).

A Franz Anton Mehlem Bonn pottery jug, circa 1900, the textured cream body painted and gilt with butterflies and flowers, the handle formed as an entwined gilt lizard, impressed mark to base, height 32cm, together with a large Dresden porcelain floral painted vase, height 38cm, a Continental bisque porcelain model of a child in a basket, a Baccarat style bottle and stopper, height 16cm, and a cut glass decanter and stopper (minor faults).

Seven Lisa Larson Gustavsberg pottery animals, comprising a Tip-Top Tiger from the Africa range, designed 1964, length 27cm, Big-Hearted Bear from the Nordic Zoo Skansen series, designed 1976, a Breathtaking Bulldog from the Kennel series, designed 1972, a Marvellous Miniature Elephant, reindeer, cat and two conjoined seals, various impressed, printed and incised marks, some with original applied paper labels, together with a similar polar bear, length 21cm.

A Seth Pennington Liverpool porcelain coffee can, circa 1780, painted in polychrome colours with two Chinese figures beneath an iron red tree, the rim interior with an iron red border, unmarked, height 6.8cm, together with a small group of ceramics, including a Chinese famille rose style ironstone dish, length 26cm, a Chinese famille rose sparrow beak jug, height 11cm, a recumbent dog, length 11.5cm, and a Staffordshire jug dated 1842 and inscribed 'G.BALE', height 16cm (faults and repairs).

A Derby porcelain figure of a shepherdess, circa 1760, modelled placing a garland around the neck of a sheep, on a floral encrusted base, height 19cm, together with a small group of Stevenson & Hancock Derby porcelain, comprising a family of three sheep on a fenced base before a tree, snuff taker jug with removable hat cover, seated child tying her shoe, figure of a portly gentleman, parrot on a perch, miniature toby jug, height 4cm, floral painted and gilt jug and a figure of a shepherd, height 17cm (faults and restoration).

A Royal Crown Derby Gold Aves pattern coffee pot and cover, jug and two handled sugar bowl and cover, dated 1978 and 1979, pattern No. A1235, red printed factory marks to bases.

A French porcelain two-handled vase, circa 1840-60, painted with three figures in a dark interior opposing a waterside landscape, flanked by gilt swan handles, raised on a circular base and square foot, unmarked, height 27.5cm, together with a gilt ground Nast porcelain cabinet cup and saucer, three pearlware nursery plates, two inscribed 'A PRESENT from my UNCLE' and one inscribed 'A PRESENT for my SISTER', diameter 15cm, five French faience dishes, a Chinese famille rose bowl, 18th century, diameter 14.8cm, a Chinese saucer dish painted with a peach tree, diameter 16.5cm and a Chinese famille rose plate with scalloped rim, diameter 23cm (some faults and repairs).

A Mintons porcelain circular bowl, circa 1900, painted by J.E. Dean, signed, with a band of yachts and sail boats at sunset above a gilt overlaid turquoise glazed ground, impressed and puce printed marks to base, diameter 22cm (minute chip to exterior edge of foot).

Two Dresden porcelain pink ground two-handled cups and saucers, late 19th/early 20th century, painted with figural and foliate panels within gilt framing, underglaze blue marks to bases, diameter of largest saucer 14cm, together with a small group of other Continental porcelain, including a set of eight floral painted cups and saucers with moulded gilt enriched scrolls and a Limoge dressing table pot and cover.

A Royal Crown Derby Japan 2451 pattern service, dated 1919 to 1922, comprising twelve teacups and saucers, twelve tea plates, jug, sugar bowl and teapot and cover, red printed and impressed marks to bases.

Two Royal Crown Derby animal paperweights, comprising a polar bear and a swan, gilt buttons to bases, together with four pieces of Royal Doulton, comprising a large Parson Brown character jug, a Queen Victoria 1897 Jubilee commemorative goblet, a similar mug commemorating the coronation of Edward VII and a 1937 Coronation tankard.

A Paris porcelain Meissen style gilt metal mounted trinket box with hinged lid, late 19th century, painted with figures and flowers within gilt edged pink scale borders, underglaze blue mark to base, length 9cm, together with five similar boxes, including two faience examples and one by Samson (some faults).
