British and Continental Ceramics

A group of 19th century and later decorative ceramics, including a Bloor Derby lobed dessert dish, painted with a 'View of Italy', width 24.7cm, a set of five Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co plates, each painted with a floral spray, and a pair of Worcester style plates decorated with panels of exotic birds against a cobalt blue scale ground (minor faults and restoration).

Five Royal Worcester candle snuffers, comprising two The Cook, circa 1905 and 1920, height 6.5cm, Granny Snow, circa 1912, height 7.8cm, Witch, Mandarin and Nun, together with a Grainger & Co pierced two-handled bowl and cover (some faults).

A J.M. Michel Cazin pottery vase, circa 1900, the blue glazed bulbous body decorated in high relief with daisy flowers and leaves, applied rectangular plaque with incised mark, height 14cm.

Four Beswick Beatrix Potter figures, each with gold oval backstamp mark BP-2, comprising Peter Rabbit, Tom Kitten, Mrs Tiggy-Winkle and Goody Tiptoes.

A Doulton Lambeth stoneware Boer War commemorative tyg, circa 1900, the mottled green glazed body inscribed 'IN COMMEMORATION OF THE HOISTING OF THE BRITISH FLAG AT PRETORIA, GOD SAVE THE QUEEN', decorated with a portrait of the Queen flanked by the Union and Royal Ensign flags, height 16.8cm (cracked, some restoration), together with a Doulton two-handled loving cup, sprigged with huntsman, hounds and hanging game (restored).

A Carlton Ware Guinness Toucan lampbase, modelled as a toucan standing beside a pint of Guinness on an inscribed green oval base, red printed factory mark, height 23.5cm.

A Delft four-tile panel, late 18th century, polychrome painted with a yellow bird in an elaborate cage, approx 27cm square, held within a grey veined marble frame (repainting to join lines).

A pair of Delft sixteen-tile panels, late 18th/19th century, probably Portuguese, both painted in blue, yellow and manganese with a central large flowerhead within a surround of scrolling foliage and flowers, each panel approx 56cm square, sealed into wooden frames with closed backs (faults and restoration).

A large collection of Portmeirion tablewares, including a teapot and cover, a large serving bowl, eight dinner plates, six breakfast bowls and a rectangular dish.

A terracotta copy of an Attic type vase, late 19th century, the tapered black ground body decorated with three classical figures between geometric banding, flanked by loop handles to the shoulders, the neck with a loop handle too, height 28cm.

Four Victoria & Albert Museum reproduction Delft drinking vessels in the form of cats, modern, the seated animals with horizontal bands of fur in blue and manganese, each with a heart shaped cartouche inscribed 'L T M 1676', height 17.5cm.

An unusual Dutch Delft box and cover in the form of a swan, 19th century, with white glazed body, black glazed feet and beak and blue eye detail, unmarked, height 14cm (neck restored).

Two English Delft blue painted chinoiserie chargers, second half 18th century, the first with a figure in a garden, the rim with a partial repeat of the main view, the second with a willow tree before a fence with flowering stems and leaf sprays to the rim, each 35cm diameter (typical fritting).

A faience plate, dated 1783, painted in ochre and grey with a central hot air balloon, inscribed 'Louis Maury', the rim with a border of yellow flowers on green leaves with scalloped edging, diameter 24cm.

A Dutch Delft chinoiserie plate, early 18th century, painted in blue with a vase by a large peony, blue painted monogram mark to reverse, diameter 22.3cm, together with a group of other Dutch Delft plates and dishes, including five with the Peacock design, one example with the De Drye Clocken mark, diameter 22.8cm (restoration).

Two large De Porceleyne Bijl Dutch Delft chinoiserie chargers, early to mid-18th century, both painted in blue, the first with a figural landscape and floral rim edged in ochre, diameter 35cm, the second with two birds perched on a fence beside a pine tree, the trellis banded rim edged in ochre, diameter 35cm, blue painted factory marks (some faults and restoration).

Nine assorted Delft plates, mostly English, early to mid-18th century, the majority blue painted with chinoiserie designs, including a London example with two pagoda islands, a pair with simple landscape and a Liverpool example with two figures in a garden, diameter of largest 23cm (faults and restoration).

An English Delft charger, probably Bristol, mid-18th century, painted in blue with a chinoiserie garden, the rim with four floral groups, diameter 30.5cm, together with three other Delft chargers, including one painted in blue with a house, diameter 33.7cm, and one in Kraak style, and two English Delft plates, diameter 23cm (faults and restoration).

A Dutch Delft two-handled posset pot and cover, 18th century, the circular body painted in blue with a wavy foliate band, height 12cm (restoration to rim of cover), together with a late 17th/early 18th century spouted example with floral panels (extensively restored).
