LOT 3061
A scarce Henry I hammered silver penny 1100-1135, pellets in quatrefoil type, moneyer 'Ailpard on Pilt', Wilton Mint, Sp 1275 (extremely fine and well-struck for type), with an old ticket detailing the coin as part of the Canterbury Hoard found in 1901 and 'From the Taffs Sale 21/11/56, Lot 131'. Note: the Taffs Sale refers to the collection of the late H.W. Taffs, London, sold by Glendining & Co. This coin was also sold by Spink & Son in 2004.
