LOT 415
An early 17th century provincial silver seal top spoon with fig shaped bowl, tapered flat hexagonal stem and foliate knop finial, Salisbury circa 1620 by Robert Tyte, weight 51.6g, length 18.1cm. Note: for illustration of marks, see page 272 of 'Jackson's Silver & Gold Marks of England, Scotland & Ireland', 2009 edition (with corrections); in Jackson's 1921 edition and later reprints the marks of Robert Tyte of Salisbury were incorrectly attributed to the city of Truro, but in recent years, new information has been found which firmly attributes the marks to Salisbury.
