A George II silver tankard of girdled tapering cylindrical form, the domed hinged lid and pierced scroll thumbpiece above a scroll handle, the front monogram engraved, on a skirted base, London 1752/53 by Fuller White, weight 838g, height 19cm. Note: the London silversmith Fuller White produced this tankard in the same year he made the Norfolk mace for Robert Dinwiddie (1693-1770), then Lieutenant Governor of the Royal Colony of Virginia, who presented it to the city of Norfolk in 1753.
