An extremely rare and striking Bank of Rhodesia and Nyasaland partial banknote die proof engraver's test strike for the obverse of a ten shillings note, 1956 issue, in dark red with portrait vignette of Queen Elizabeth II to right side, fish eagle to left, values to three corners, full strike on torn paper/card showing three plate margins (extremely fine, some handling marks). Provenance: from the personal archive of the late Alan Dow, master banknote engraver to Bradbury Wilkinson & Co and the Bank of England.
