A rare Central Bank of Kenya banknote die proof engraver's test strike for the obverse of a one hundred shillings note, in striking purple with portrait vignette of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta to left side, values to three corners, some colour bleed to fields, on oversized paper/card (extremely fine, some light handling marks). Note: this style of portrait was used on issued notes. Provenance: from the personal archive of the late Alan Dow, master banknote engraver to Bradbury Wilkinson & Co and the Bank of England.
