A group of fourteen rare and striking Central Bank of the Gambia partial banknote progressive die proof engraver's test strikes for the obverse of a one dalasi note, circa 1971-1987, colour trials in a range of brown to black shades with portrait vignette of Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara to right side, sailing boat to left, values in two and four corners, on oversized paper/card (extremely fine, some printer's handling marks). Provenance: from the personal archive of the late Alan Dow, master banknote engraver to Bradbury Wilkinson & Co and the Bank of England.
