LOT 1250
A George III figured mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 14-inch painted breakarch dial with rolling moon to arch and inscribed 'Thos Atkinson Ormskirk', above black Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds, outer date ring and scene of a lady, the arched hood with three brass finials above a dentil swan neck pediment, glazed door and inlaid stop fluted columns, the trunk with arched door flanked by corner columns, on a cut cornered base and ogee bracket feet, height 257cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: Thomas Atkinson is a recorded Lancashire clockmaker working in Ormskirk between 1767 and 1786.
