A rare John Pearson Arts & Crafts pottery bowl, circa 1900, painted to the interior with a snake and three grotesque mythical lizard type creatures in blue and black within swirls of stylized foliage in blue and green, backed by a ground of gold lustre scrolls against a silver lustre craquelure ground, the base interior with a stylized foliate design in silver and copper lustre, the exterior with a geometric pattern of ovals, scrolls and line detail in matt green and blue enamels, painted 'JP' monogram and hourglass mark to base, diameter 26cm.
