ILLUMINATED LEAF. – [Giustino di GHERARDINO.] [A mid to late 14th century leaf from an Antiphonary, in Latin, from Venice, Italy.] Single leaf (578 x 397mm.) A medium-sized vari-coloured historiated initial of the Dormition of the Virgin, staves in red and black. (Browned to lower edge, yellowed verso, some rubbing to the gold). Note: probably illuminated by Giustino di Gheradino. With thanks to Peter Kidd for his assistance in cataloguing this lot.
