Title in red and black, numerous wood-engraved colour illustrations printed by Edmund Evans. (Small mark to half-title, toning.) Near contemporary green straight-grain morocco bound by Riviere with gilt fillet borders, the spine in five compartments with double raised bands and red morocco onlays between, gilt turn-ins, g.e. (minor scuffing and staining to upper covers, rebacked with original spine laid-down). Note: with each illustration printed in up to ten colours, Evans considered this ‘the most carefully executed book I have ever printed’.
