Original white cloth, gilt lettering to upper cover and spine (spine browned, covers finger-marked). Note: rare. An active theosophist, Kingsford founded the Hermetic Society in 1884. She was a vegetarian, feminist and an anti-vivisectionist who founded the Food Reform Society in 1881.
