A fine George VI Royal Navy midshipman's dirk with straight single-edged blade, blade length 46cm, with etched foliate decoration and detailed with crowned 'GRVI' cypher, crowned fouled anchor and royal coat of arms, cast brass reverse quillion with acorn terminals and applied navy badge, wire bound fishskin grip and lion head pommel with ring suspension holding a woven bullion sword knot, with brass mounted leather scabbard with press spring release, the scabbard top mount with engraved initials 'P.E.B.R.', and associated period leather suspension belt with gilt cast brass buckle mount with crowned anchor badge.
