A French An XI cuirassier's sword with straight single-edged double-fullered blade with unusual hatchet point, blade length 96.5cm, stamped 'AP' mark for Atelier de Précision to hilt end, brass triple-bar hilt, stamped 'Versailles', and moulded leather grip, with steel scabbard with twin suspension rigs (some breakdown to leather grip, active rust and pitting to scabbard).
