A rare 1930s Asprey gilt metal cased novelty butt marker holder of shotgun cartridge form, the percussion cap detailed 'Asprey's Cartridge Placefinder Patent Applied For', the opposing end detailed 'Loaded by Asprey, 6, Smokeless', the base of the body detailed 'G.C. from R. St. G.R. 2/6/1936', the percussion cap with twist-action opening the opposing end with inverted umbrella effect to reveal ten markers, length 6cm. Provenance: the property of a Hampshire private collector.
