A fine and rare mid-19th century percussion rifle by Sherwood, Portsmouth, with octagonal pattern welded barrel, barrel length 85cm, with front and rear sights and gold and mixed metal damascened decoration, foliate engraved lock, hammer and trigger guard, full-stocked in walnut with chequered grip and wood ramrod with brass tip. Provenance: the property of a Hampshire private collector.
