A German bronze circular plaque medallion, designed by Fritz Koenig, commemorating the construction of two bridges over the Isar River in Landshut 1971 and 1972, with the bridges named after the twinned towns of Compiegne and Elgin, signed 'F.K' to front, diameter 6.7cm, cased. Note: Fritz Koenig (1924-2017) is considered one of the most important German sculptors of the 20th century. His most famous work is the sphere which stood beneath the two World Trade Center towers in Lower Manhattan. It is now displayed in Liberty Park as a memorial to the victims of the September 11th attacks.
