Alfred William Parsons (British 1847-1920) – ‘Bullrushes’ (Gravetye Manor Lake), oil on board, signed and inscribed verso, 42.5cm x 53cm, within a painted and gilt composition frame with applied plaque. Note: Alfred Parsons was invited by William Robinson to paint the waterlily pond at Gravetye in the Summer and Autumn of 1895. Literature: Robinson, W., ‘Gravetye Manor: Or, Twenty Years' Work Round an Old Manor House’ (J. Murray, 1911) p.95.
