A Japanese lacquer miniature hokai box and cover, Meiji period, of ribbed cylindrical form, raised on four upright flange legs, decorated with all-over gilt scrolling tendrils on a dark brown/black ground, height 6.3cm, together with a laque burgauté rectangular box and cover inlaid in mother-of-pearl with two cranes and flowers, length 5.5cm, and a Japanese vegetable ivory (tagua nut) netsuke, carved with a female mask, two-character signature to reverse, length 4.5cm.
