A 19th century Indian silver dish of circular form with scalloped rim, pierced and engraved with foliate panels framing a floral engraved centre, the reverse with incised Islamic inscription 'Sarkar Nawwab 'Ali Asghar Khan Bahadur', weight 707g, diameter 30.7cm. Note: Nawab Ali Asghar Khan, Khan Bahadur C.S.I. was the commanding General of the Rampur State troops, confidential vakil for the court to the British Government and Vice President of the Rampur State Council of Regency. He was the second son of Najib ud-Daula Nawab Ghulam Muinuddin Khan Bahadur Amir ul-Umra (1789-1843), 4th Nawab of Najibabad and Prime Minister at the Mughal Court of Delhi.
