Nina Scott Langley [Nina Pine-Coffin] – ‘Bagheera’, watercolour with gouache, signed and dated 1914 recto, titled label verso, 39.5cm x 62.5cm, within a gilt frame. Note: Nina Scott Langley, born in 1890 to notable amateur tennis players Lillan Cole and Charles Edward Pine-Coffin, was a distinguished animal painter, illustrator and amateur soprano singer. Her illustrations have been included in several published books and periodicals, including The Tatler and Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News and in 1928, she exhibited at the Walker Gallery in London. Langley also designed iconic posters for the London Underground.
