A pair of Maw & Co (Broseley) stoneware pottery planters, circa 1852-83, the circular flattened bulbous tops moulded with four high-relief lion masks on a lobed band, picked out in ochre against a mottled off-white ground, above a purple glazed lower body, supported on four ochre glazed lion paw columns and canted corner square bases, the off-white glazed interiors with an ochre and purple band to the rim, impressed marks to bases, height 30cm, diameter of tops 48cm (some faults).
