Attributed to Frank Markham Skipworth – Kittens (Indolence), 19th century monochrome ink with wash and bodycolour, signed with initials, 13cm x 19cm, within a gilt composition frame. Note: this grisaille drawing was used as the model for the lithographic illustration titled ‘Kittens’ in Robert Ellice Mack’s ‘Sweet Nature and Other Poems’ (E. P. Dutton & company, New York, 1891). The artist’s 1884 oil painting of the same subject was titled ‘Indolence’.
